Moussa

Moussa is a Senegalese man victim of poliomyelitis. The disease has corroded his spine, therefore hindering him to assume normal erectnes and forced him to ‘walk” on hands and knees.

Years ago, when Gianni Padlina  met him, Moussa was crippled and draggered himself through the dusty streets of Dakar, panhandling for survival.

The godsend made it possible that Moussa had met a wealthy French tourist, who had arranged a chirurgical intervention in Paris. Two metallic batons had been allocated on his spine, which enabled him to uphold himself and bootlegs for his limbs. This way it was possible for Moussa to walk in a vertical position while using some crutches. A miracle.

The benefactor deceased a short time after the intervention and nobody ever since was concerned about the young man and about his medical needs.

Gianni Padlina met Moussa some years after and is now taking care.

The donations collected, thanks also to Lion’s Club Lugano, made it possible to dam an acute infection on his spide and to accouter a cybercafé for him.

Moussa had the possibility to attend and education in computer science and became a small enterpreneur. He has created 6 new occupations in such a difficult reality as the one in Senegal.

"if..." will continue to take care about him, surveying his business activities and his health conditions, in order to grant him to look after himself and his family, which he has created in the meanwhile.
